I work with individuals, relationships of all kinds, groups, collectives, and families in conflict.
Individual
Many issues we encounter within ourselves and with other people are connected to how we learned to be close, show love, receive love, and stay true to ourselves while in relationship. Meeting with a counselor creates a space to look into old intimacy patterns and work on new relational skills within the context of a well-held therapeutic relationship.
Group Work
Many of life’s challenges come from the family, community, and society that shaped us. They set a standard for what is “normal” in our world. We adapt into roles from our socialization. Group therapy is a powerful means to bring those unconscious ways of being into awareness. Within a group context, we help each other heal personal stories, and larger community stories.
Conflict
One thing I like about group therapy is that it can be a vehicle for social change. I love working within communities facing challenges around how to work well together. I honor the transformative nature of conflict as a way to deepen empathy and shared understanding. I am passionate about group process. Feel free to contact me regarding conflict mediation.
